Solutions for challenging video game bosses displayed in visual diagrams in conjunction with realtime examples.
Many community-created video guides for the MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV, existed as long-form videos that relied on in-game footage coupled with voiceover narrations. I provided a solution that was much more succinct and visual; in the form of animated diagrams supplemented with brief text descriptions. These diagrams simulated the movement, timing, and positioning required for the attack sequences and puzzles that were present in-game. These served as a reference and study material for players that aspired to complete the corresponding encounters.
Short videos were created to tackle individual attacks as well as full version videos that cover an entire 10+ minute battle. The objective of the full versions were not only to make something instructional but also something that can serve as a visual spectacle that could be enjoyed completely detached from the original context.

An example of a full version guide covering an entire encounter.
The intention of the shorter videos are to focus on a single problematic part of the encounter. These videos served to be bite-sized references that a player could easily watch and review when needed.

A commemorative reminiscing of an adventure.
A short created to celebrate the end of a game's expansion as well as expressing an identifiable journey shared by many players, especially during the time of a global quarantine. In-game footage was heavily combined and transformed with duo-tone effects and a split-screen aesthetic to portray the two characters' constant feelings of closeness and distance.
